cold, busy and homesick

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, I know I could have started working on this earlier and not spend so much time playing Civilization or working on my fanfiction and webstuff. However, I am not complaining about the assignment. Tastk 2 is actually something I can do very well and Task 1 should be managable.

As I have to print the out tomorrow at the IT centre - I thought I might book my flight with ryanair and print out my boarding pass (yes, I long to be home for soooo many reasons). What did I realise? For only 35 Euros or Pound (not sure which) I can take along a second piece of luggage with additional 15 kgs! Wow, so I guess I see how many cool stuff I get in the next two week and then I book my flight accordingly. That is too awesome and too cheap to ignore!

I just wonder if I will get any problem with the tax although I am not sure how that works for second hand books. But it uplifted me a bit in spirits. Sarah, the girl who lives opposite from me and also goes to my home uni in Germany, feels just like I do. We have to be here, the semester abroad is a must not a choice, we talk way too much German all around and we count the days till this experience although not regarded as a bad one by either of us is over.

Which reminds me 44 days left. In 44 days at this hour I will lie in my awesome bed which is not too soft, not too hard, has no feather sticking out, is not lumpy, does have really soft covers, with an inviting pillow that is not flat and constantly falls into the space between matress and headboard.

If not for the time pressure regarding the work load and assignment, the dumb cold that prevents me from going to the gym to exercise I would actually be rather content. I guess the latter bothers me the most. As I feel drawn to my super awesome ice-cream. NOw I will finish task 2 of my assignment and then make another layout for maratofel.net on which I worked way too long today already.

Almost forgot .... POTC dream

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
If not for the brain numbing incident earlier, I would have already sat down in the kitchen and posted about this. I had another very nice dream featuring a sexy villain. *hintsaticon*

It was very weird and and took place on a very large lake. There was nothing caribbean about the whole dream, but at various points characters seem to appear. Most prominently Barbossa, who was apparantly of the opinion the lake belonged to him.

I was on board a smaller ship, I think we were on some sort of expedition, do not remember for what. However, I do remember some excursions and something about Highlander: The series (which was hint at another dream that I do not really recall in detail once I am awake - has something to do with my favourite character Kronos, like an extra episode that never happened).

We saw Barbossa's ship come closer and being on a lake, we quickly heade for land and seperated to avoid being caught. Funny thing was, the pirates came after us and they tried to capture us by shooting some sort of net at us. My dream self was in much, much better condition than myself and she avoided those things by stopping and breaking out to the side. So they would hit in front or beside her.

Nonetheless, two pirates had almost caught up with me. So I fled onto a beautiful cloisterlike mansion and hid in a tree. When the inhabitants showed up, the pirates took off. Some creepy looking woman - or should I say a woman with a creepy stare, who saw them asked me what I was doing there. Before I could think of something, she asked me again whether I might be here about the job. The way she said it, implied that my dreamself should better say yes.

After waking up, all I thought was: "Wow - was my dreamself an idiot or what?"

Kitchen duty with some strange circle of women or getting captured by Barbossa. I certainly know what I would have choosen and I certainly would not have needed that excellent condition my dreamself had. At one point I considered writing a silly, but smutty one-shot, where a group of POTC Fans get actually sucked into the movies.

Everyone in the group (which consisted of rabid Sparrow fangirls and me) would then be captured by Barbossa. On deck of his ship he then would ask, who wants to join him in the cabin and who would rather wait for Jack to come and rescue him. Of course I was like, yeah, cabin, cabin, me, me! You know, like Donkey in the menue of the Shrek DVD.

The idea was that we all signed a contract with the devil (without knowing it, much like in Stay Tuned) to get the ultimate POTC experience. All those fangirl masses were drawn in by the "Meet the Captain of the Black Pearl" advertisement. As with Stay Tuned - you had to stay alive for 72 hours - before you were returned to boring reality. Otherwise you were dead and the devil got your soul.

If there isn't already ...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
a hatelisting for flies I am going to make one. Bah stupid beasts, during the day they are even more annoying *grrrrrrrr*

So I did not get a lot of sleep, because after I went to bed around 6 a.m. my mom decided to go on a cleaning spree at 9 *sighs* Now she is shopping but I can't sleep ... *möp*

Anyway, last night I wrote a bit on my moonlight fanfic and found a really nice OC/Joker fanfic and offered the author to beta-read. She seems open and replied, but I'm not really awake enough to respond yet ...

In a way it kind of makes me wonder why I don't write more short and juicy pieces, it seems since I started to have sex with 17 (and stopped with 18) I also stopped writing really smutty stories. I kind of realised that my Moonlight story might not even warrant a higher rating than PG-13. Something must be wrong with me *lol*

On a site note, my mother just came up bitching because I locked the trunk of the Jetta (that's a type of VW) - OMG, how shall I ever recover from the shame? How could I? What was I thinking? The depth of atrocities to which I'm capable truly astounds me *rollseyes*

Got some rest

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
After the seminar I took the blanket and the pillow I brought along out of the car and simply settled down on a spot of grass. Normally too ugly to sit (moss, crumpled leaves, earth, stuff that had fallen from the trees) but now with the blanket a nice resting place. At first I thought I could not fall asleep, but then woom ...

It was only 45 minutes, but I feel mor rested. Probably because it is also a lot cooler. Now I have about 1 hour outside with my notebook and then half an hour waiting for the course to begin, then 90 minutes of agony *gg* Okay it is not that bad, but 50 students in one room is pretty loud.

But now that I am rested, I must confess a few things, as I probably mentioned I really liked the movie The Condemned, I even wrote a long biography for my favourite character in it. Then I read a weird hurt/comfort slash story where Obi-Wan got tortured/raped by Darth Maul. Not very good, but somehow I realised that I am actually still in the mood for some darker stuff.

So I thought instead of writing only those longer plot intensive stories, I might try out just writing about one of my villains /or more/ with a little one on one towards an original female character of my creation. Sounds probably a bit weird, but I do enjoy reading that stuff.

Years ago I had some ideas about a way to re-use all those killed-off villains. They would all come out in some afterworld, somewhat like in Astrid Lindgren's The Brothers Lionheart. Just that scifi-villains would have sci-fi world, fantasy villains a fantasy world - you get the picture. Those worlds are pretty dark and some of the villains would fight each others, while others worked together.

The plot would not really be that important, just what they are doing right now as there are no good guys to fight off. One scenario in my mind deals with Darth Maul (surprise, surprise), starting with the arrest of a girl by thhere evil guys troops, because her father did not pay taxes on time. There are some sci-fi bad guys and they play some kind of strategic game (or poker) and the winner gets to have the girl for his own private amusement. *lol* not a story you could post on ff.net ...

The other idea would be McStarley from The Condemned arriving in a now world, where some Die Hard villains and the villain duo from Hard Target are running around. At first he would probably be confused about where he is and why he is alive, then he could met some unfortunate residents, before finally getting in touch with the other baddies. I think he might accept Fouchon as the boss, considering he is not cheap and has style. It would anyway be an alliance of convenience.

Sometimes I'm so dumb

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Wanted to take a bath, but did not turn the wheel that closes the drain far enough, so after enough water was in, I stopped the water, looked for a cd, got undressed and by the time I went back, half of the water was already out again. *headdesk*

oh well, what to do with my the waiting time? Posting here of course.

While the bath tub run full of water the first time, I typed a rather long e-mail to a german mailing list about a my moonlight fanfic or rather finding someone to help me with it. I'm always so doubtful and on my own I need forever to decide on a scene or how a chapter should go. With someone to talk to who really gives constructive criticism, I know I get it done.

Worked that way when I wrote the Charlie's Angels fanfic, except that back then two of my rabbits died and I got this terrible cold and by the time I was fit to write again, all those wonderful people from the mailing list, stopped writing and giving input and I just could not get back into it ... now I feel like re-writing it, everytime I re-read it to get into it.

Still I think starting a new fanfic alltogether might be not the worst in this case, as Moonlight is a "current" Fandom. All the others are not so fresh and those who still like it know will probably still be fans in six months. I don't think the same goes for the current Moonlight fans.

Finally shipped

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Just got the confirmation that my computer parts have been shipped. With luck that means I do get them friday and thus might be able to get everything working for the weekend. The only thing I still need to buy, as i forgot to order it along is a cooler for my processor. The local expert will have to do.

I still need to write this stupid essay for tomorrow and a quiz in the next seminar which should start at 7 p.m.

I really want to go home ... I feel uncreative and bored here. Will be home late as I went by train, which will leave at 21:28 so I'll be at home around 22 p.m.

Also on a more fannish note, I wish I could stop thinking about a moonlight fanfiction. But the nerd in me would first have to establish the canon thoroughly which will be just as with Van Helsing a mess, as there are soo many plot holes and inconsistencies. Then I would need to outline the plot ideas ... [info]idolizer can probably guess which guest character will play a huge part in that fanfiction. *lol*

Forbidden Fruits

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Spend a lot of time on my web project Forbidden Fruits today. Especially, considering that I had other plans. Oh well, now I will go shopping for the weekend and then see if I can possibly manage to not having to leave the house on Thursday after I return form the uni.

Forbidden Fruits will get a complete overhaul and will be no longer just an archive for OFC Fanfiction, but also OCs in general and *drumroll* Vampires. Which means I can also ask people to archive Gabriel / Vladislaus slash there and my own Vladislaus / whatever pairings ;)

Maybe that attracts a few more people to the archive.

I do not want to expand too far, but considering I got the fanlisting for vampire fanfiction, I felt more than ever the need to make an archive for that. Admittingly "Forbidden Fruits" was a inside joke about how hostile* some slashers were towards het stories, especially if the features ofcs, but I think the name is cool on its own and fits vampire fanfiction also.

* You know those guys who were saying that het was totally disgusting, any ofc was automatically a mary sue if she shagged up with a canon - nevermind that their own slash pairings were often even more out of character and far fetched than those they het ones were attacking. Just think of Highlander, all those crazy batshit insane shippers, who couldn't stand anything female paired with Methos, because he and Duncan being the OTP of all times *rollseyes* yeah, completely ignoring the fact that both had affairs with girls left and right. Back then that attitude upset me, because it was scaring off potential writers who would not write fluffy out of character slash (not that I would have minded good Methos/Duncan slash) but some nice or often not so good het stuff. Nowadays I am a do it yourself girl ;)

Better ...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Oh well, still not top fit, but I am getting there. Started bleeding today and as a result I haven't slept well the night before. So I was again at the uni, but not the entire day.

Decided I needed more dragon icons and begun scanning in the images from my daily calender last year (as I can't really concentrate) .... I guess I will make some on the weekend.

Tomorrow I need to work on my history in-class report and give one in the evening in English about Die Hard. Not to mention that I have to hand in an essay on Thursday.

But what I really want is some time and inspiration to work on fanfics again. I always got these ideas, but I am too much of a self-critic. I miss those times, when I could swing ideas by Tersha and she would give useful feedback. But she has grown out of it and I guess the fact that she speed reads books for a quick summary, makes it impossible for her to pay attention to detail anymore anyway. *sigh*

At least I have uni only very late tomorrow!
